Slovenian scientific journal for phenomenology and hermeneutics Phainomena<\/em>, published by the Phenomenological Society of Ljubljana and the Institute Nova Revija for the Humanities, welcomes articles, translations, and book reviews predominantly from the fields of phenomenological as well as hermeneutical philosophy, history of philosophy, philosophy of culture, aesthetics, religion, politics, and theory of science, but at the same time accommodates publications from the neighboring or related fields of the humanities and social sciences. As a specialized journal, Phainomena <\/em>does not publish general presentations of discussed topics, but only the papers that take into consideration the state of the art of research in the specified fields of philosophical thought, which are directly connected with phenomenology and hermeneutics.<\/p>\n For publication consideration the journal accepts the submissions of original scientific papers in Slovenian, English, French, and German languages, as well as translations from foreign languages into Slovenian. Authors interested in the publication of their work in another language should consult the editors regarding such a possibility prior to the submission of the manuscript.<\/p>\n Beside original scientific papers the journal also publishes review articles, professional papers, preliminary communications, and book reviews; special thematic issues often include an invited editorial or introductory text by the (guest) editor(s).<\/p>\n Books presented for review in the journal should be sent to the addresses of the editors or publishers.<\/p>\n Manuscripts submitted for the publication in the journal should be addressed to the editorial office, the secretary of the editorial board, or the editor-in-chief. The proposed manuscript should not be previously published or concurrently presented for publication consideration elsewhere, until the author receives notification regarding acceptance, required (minor or major) revision(s), or rejection of the manuscript after the concluded editorial evaluation or eventual reviewing procedure.<\/p>\n The journal Phainomena<\/em> is published quarterly, usually in two issues.<\/p>\n \u03a6 Review Process<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n After submission, the contributions are initially evaluated by the editorial office and may be immediately rejected if they are considered to be out of the journal\u2019s scope or otherwise unfit for consideration. The ensuing process of scientific review, which can\u2014provided that no additional delays occur\u2014take up to 3 months, includes an editorial opinion and a double-blind peer review by at least two external reviewers. The choice of reviewers is at the discretion of the editors. The publishers of the journal archive all materials and documents of the review process. The articles that do not report original research (e.g.: editorials or book reviews) are not externally reviewed and are subject to the autonomous decision of the editor-in-chief, the guest editor(s), or the editorial board regarding publication.<\/p>\n \u03a6<\/span><\/strong> Publication Ethics<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The journal Phainomena<\/em> strives to uphold contemporary ethical principles regarding quality control, which are generally accepted within modern academia and which mutually bind authors, reviewers, and editors of scientific publications. The editors and publishers of the journal maintain and follow the standards of the Elsevier publishing company that manages the Scopus abstract and citation database.<\/p>\n The editorship of the journal takes responsibility to consider all submitted manuscripts with confidentiality, and to ensure the timeliness in the communication of its decision to authors. Manuscripts presented for publication are evaluated solely according to scientific merit and research relevance.<\/p>\n The selected reviewers, whose work represents an integral part of the editing and publishing process, take responsibility to execute duties conferred upon them objectively, conscientiously, and without unnecessary delays. Reviewers immediately report to the editorship any potential reservations with regard to evaluation competence or conflict of interest in the consideration of a submitted manuscript.<\/p>\n The authors take responsibility to present entirely original work with the submission of a manuscript. In reporting the accomplished scientific work, the authors are required to provide an accurate account and objective discussion of the significance thereof. The authors should appropriately indicate references to and quotations from the works of other researchers or secondary bibliographic sources. Willfully erroneous or incorrect statements, plagiarism, or concurrent submission of the same manuscript for publication elsewhere represent unethical behavior and will not be condoned by the editorship. Before publication, the texts are proofread with regard to general guidelines and basic formatting, but the authors are responsible for the quality and correctness of language. The authors are expected to adhere to the journal\u2019s guidelines and submit a consistent manuscript free of typographical, grammatical, or factual errors. The author bears the sole responsibility for the content of the contribution submitted for publication consideration within the journal, and also for the acquisition of permissions for the usage of any copyrighted material. Should an important error or a fundamental inaccuracy be discovered in the published work, the author is required to immediately notify the editorship and collaborate in the retraction of the paper. When republishing the paper in another journal or elsewhere, the author should expressly indicate the first publication in the journal Phainomena<\/em>.<\/p>\n In the event of a conflict, the implicated parties mutually agree to attempt to solve the dispute in collaboration with the editorship.<\/p>\n The publishers and editors of the journal Phainomena<\/em> do not charge article processing or publication fees for the submitted manuscripts.
